Yoono - a nifty Firefox and IE plug-in that serves

Yoono, a nifty Firefox and IE plug-in that serves as an aggregator of social networks and media hub, is launching a desktop version of the browser sidebar. Yoono essentially aggregate and centralize their online profiles, including instant messaging tools like Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and AIM, and a variety of social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flickr, Friendfeed, and more. The launch has also recently launched the ability to share pages and images or video in addition to building real-time search powered by OneRiot.

The desktop application, available for Windows and Mac, has the same experience that the browser extension, except in a separate product. The application works with Mozilla XULRunner cross-platform technology (the same technology is based on Firefox), which is refreshing considering all the Adobe AIR applications out there. Yoono said the decision was made to use the XULRunner light of its history as a Firefox addon and ease of porting.
